Intro to Rowville Baptist

Rowville Baptist is a growing, contemporary Christian church, meeting in the south-eastern suburbs of Melbourne, Australia.

The church is made up of people from four generations (children to great-grandparents). We were born in over 25 countries on 6 continents. We are a diverse crowd united around Jesus Christ. Some of us are longtime believers and some are still exploring the idea of following Jesus. Most of us want to grow in faith, hope and love and to help others grow too.

We are a mainstream Christian church - affirming all the foundational truthes of Christianity. We don't impose a creed or believe in infallible leaders, but encourage each person to read, believe and practise God's Word (the Bible). We empower leaders (male and female) to run various activities, but our major decisions are made through a process of corporate discernment.

We are part of the Baptist Union of Victoria, a voluntary association of about 200 autonomous churches representing over 20,000 people. This links us to the Baptist World Alliance - perhaps the largest Protestant denomination in the world.

We believe our mission is to worship God and love people.

We share a vision to be a growing, equipped and empowered community, celebrating Jesus Christ and loving one another, our neighbours and the world for the glory of God.
